This spring the Marietta Center for the Arts will again be offering a six-week long acting class. This class is a perfect fit for students who are just starting to take an interest in theater, and
for those who are looking to practice and expand the skills they may already possess. Classes will focus on utilizing the students’ imaginations and fostering creativity. Students will get to use their voices, minds, and bodies to create realistic characters for the stage, while also playing games and making new friends. New students are always welcome, and returning students are encouraged to come back for more fun, learning, and new activities! Class curriculum will be tailored to the students’ interests and skill levels.
Instructor: Aiden Thomas
Aiden Thomas is a recent Temple University graduate with a degree in Geography and Urban Studies and minor in Sociology. She is currently the education chairperson for the Marietta
Center for the Arts. As a child, she developed a love for the theater, and particularly the Susquehanna Stage Company. Aiden took classes under the current artistic director, Jim Johnson, when she was younger, and also worked closely with Linda Boozer, the original education director for the Susquehanna Stage Company. While in high school, Aiden choreographed the children’s workshop productions and stage managed multiple mainstage shows. She also performed in numerous high school and SSC productions. Aiden continued to use her passion for theater in college by volunteering with the drama program at a charter high school in North Philadelphia. It was at this program that she was given the opportunity to try her hand at directing. Now, Aiden is giving back to her roots by volunteering her time
and acquired skills to others looking to further explore the world of theater.
